Prakash Padukone speaks

by Ashwin
(Pune,India)

The reserved Prakash said many important things in a free wheeling interview. He revealed that his strategy henceforth will be to train up youngsters at the grass roots rather than potential young champions.

He felt the young budding champions have many options now and they need much more time and attention. On the other hand building up a group of talented fresh new players would be better.

Among other things he also said that with the exception of Saina Nehwal who shows amazing commitment and has made it to the top the others among the Indian men do not have that zeal though they are talented enough.

He also felt that Lakshya a 10 year old shows great promise for his age and if he continues on this path we might see an International champion in him. He also said that young Lakshya was better than he was at that age.
